There is a road, but no highway. Just a 40-45 MPH street.

WHAT?!?!?! that makes absolutely no sense. actually, that sounds strikingly similar to the arguments you are criticizing because it is completely independent of worthwhile facts. No one should vote either way based on non-information you have received from one side. To clarify, Leppert/council/etc attacking Angela Hunt may be inappropriate but that does not make Angela right or wrong, it just makes the argument childish.

I say the same thing for nearly everyone on the No side, can't think of one I really respected before the campaign, starting with Go To Hell Kirk through the present council. Especially the suburb cities passing resolutions in support, what a bunch of parasites. The big question is whether the Vote No pavers will let Laura Miller out of her cage for the watch party, now that she can't do any more damage. There's probably a line item on the No campaign finance report for her house arrest.

That's the point -- making the election about a particular personality is childish.

The thing is, one side is making it about Angela... the other side is making it about the issues. Sometimes, you can make a fair judgement about an issue by looking at the credibility of its supporters.

Actually most of the looney left is on board with the project. It is the ultra, ultra, super far China/Castro/Stalin left that's pushing this little number. Them and the pot smokers.

But it doesn't matter because:

So, basically you voted along "party" lines when this issue was not split along republican nor democratic party lines? What do you think that says about you?

I don't care what it says about me. I have been reading these posts on this forum for months and it was this forum that conviced me more than anything.

I respect your opinion. But, for the record, this issue was not split down political party lines. If you have information to the contrary, I welcome it.

I went and voted around 4 pm downtown, was # 195. Women in the front said it was a slow but steady stream of people coming in to vote.

Most of the people I know voting yes are pretty conservative types (the kind who don't like spending $1.6 billion on a tollroad) and far from looney left.

You mean like the ones that have busy high paying jobs and can't take the time to leave work and vote before 6pm?

I suspect the voting is going to significantly skew to the left after 5.

Taken from the following Dallas " Managed" News article:

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcon....1e378687c.html

Turnout was mixed in North Dallas, with some polling places seeing only a handful of people trickle in while other sites like Ridgecrest Baptist predicting turnout as high as 20 percent. Of five people interviewed leaving that polling spot, Ms. Hunt's side enjoyed a four to one advantage.

I don't think this has been a "left"/"right" issue.

I do think that the southern sector will surprise people.

I'll be at Gilly's tonight if anyone wants me.

The rest of y'all, have fun at the MAC and have one for me. (besides, I know who bought the booze and it's just plain ole run-of-the-mill Yellow Tail Shiraz.....at least I'll be able to enjoy a good glass of good hooch...heh heh heh)

Voted No!

Gas was much cheaper in 1998 when I first went to the poll to approve the tollroad. Thanks Angela, I had to spend more money to go back to do the same thing all over again.

I support Dallas residents first; by improving traffic in a much needed area of town rather than trying to show off a new toy to outsiders. Hopefully the Vote Yes folks will not whine about a confusing ballot this time around and leave well enough alone.

Loosers (n, pl).

1. Lower middle class male-to-female transvestites who've been around the block a few too many times and compensate for their damaged self worths with poorly feigned elitism.

And before anyone freaks out about decent behavior, keep in mind I'm not flaming a real person.

2. Dallas Biz Journal--I agree with their editorial

3. I fear that if the tollway goes the entire project goes

Nice work St-T!! I knew you'd come around.
