Cocaine and Boob Job Crowd
I've read a few articles in D and the DMN that suggests the "cocaine and boob job crowd" might be finding its way downtown. Euphoria, Umlaut, and Jeroboam on Main are three of the hottest spots right now. That's good news for downtown. |

Re: Cocaine and Boob Job Crowd
Very interesting. Uhh, why is this good for downtown? |

$$$
The C&BJC has money and leads trends. Where they go, others follow. With others comes development. If the C&BJC determines Main Street is "cool," other folks will investigate. More people = more development. |

Re: $$$
Right, I can see that point. The C&BJC does have a lot of money and they appear to lead the trend setting scene. I am curious if it will only lead to lots of trendy C&BJC development that does not appeal to the average person. Don't get me wrong, I am all for the C&BJC in DT....it makes life more interesting for me to live there, but in order for the downtown to thrive, it needs to attract everyone, right? Here is my take on those: - Euphoria - pretty good sushi and drinks.....but is typically dead (except for party nights) - Umlaut - packed only on party nights - Jeroboam - expensive, but seems to pretty crowded everytime I pass by - must be good (or trendy!) I guess I am bored at work too! |

Party Nights?
Do you mean like Thursday-Sunday or when there are private parties? I've not been down there, but I'm looking forward to checking out the scene. |

Nobody in the C&BJC wants to admit their in it. You won't find an official membership list either.
Its a figure of speech anyway.

No cover for women, $20 cover for men - sounds like a perfect set up for the C&BJC. |

I have lived in Las Colinas, Turtle Creek, Uptown, now downtown and soon the cedars....and yes, I have tried some things....but it doesn't mean i do them. maybe i am blissfully ignorant as to what is going on around me at some of those places....(others its plainly obvious). You'd be very surprised where you see coke, it's actually fairly easy to get here in dallas. but anyway, purgatory is a great club, had lots of fun, didn't see any coke, but wouldn't be surprised if it's there.

I saw someone smoking a joint at a party last year. That is the extent of my drug experiences.

You promised you wouldn't tell! And if these are the only locations for plastic boobs and nose candy I don't know how those particular service providers stay in business. Why don't we just start the list with the Dallas Country Club and work our way down (or up depending on personal perpective)? |

I can honestly say I have never had any drugs. I've just never had any friend who do that stuff....No. I take that back. I did have some friend at one time that did that stuff but they respected my right to not to do it.

have seen plenty of drug use in my life. Never touched it myself though. I'd have no clue what spots to go to for that crowd.

I'd agree with the Grapevine assesment. However, the C&BJ crowd have finally discovered how cool it is to "slum it down" and hang out in South Dallas. Go to Lee Harvey's on a Saturday and see for yourself.
