Detroit it is!!!! Sorry for being so computer illiterate guys. Yes Detroit, I have always wanted to go their for various reasons. It has always seemed to be an incredibly interesting city and I think that any city could learn a lot from Detroit. It's the perfect example of how white flight can effect a city so dramatically.

Detroit is an excellent example of the "white flight".

We also have an excellent example here, in Dallas. Touch up on your Dallas history......whew.....it has been pretty nasty here!

I completely agree with you Garrett white flight has been bad in Dallas but nowhere is it so evident than in Detroit. In roughly 1950 Detroit peaked at about 2 million population now it has around 900,000 and I beleive the city is 85% african american. A lot of Detroit's most impressive architecture sits vacant. In Dallas a lot of the white flight was made up by an influx of Latinos and more whites continue to move back to the city.

"Roger and Me" is a great Michael Moore documentary about the collaspe of the Detroit area economy and its effects on Flint, Michigan, a distant Detroit suburb.
