Interesting list, Harry. As the article suggested, the number of hotel rooms sold was probably the most reliable measure... the number of visitors was not so believable.
For example, the ratio of hotel rooms sold seemed to be in a reasonable proportion to the size of the metro, unless you were dealing with a resort such as Las Vegas or San Diego. The Houston, Dallas and Chicago hotel rooms mirrored pretty close to the relative size of each metro.
