Surprise, surprise! An indoor water park in Minneapolis! Sorry, it's an inside joke with a few of my co-workers.
That is a pretty cool area, even for Minneapolis. I'm not the world's biggest fan of the city, but great pictures none the less.
Here are a few photos from a recent trip to Minneapolis. I took a stroll through the historic Mills District, which at one time was the flour milling capital of the world. After fossil fuels replaced water power for milling, most of the mills were abandoned and surface lots for the nearby Metrodome took over. The area is now in a big revitalization, with a riverfront park, old milling buildings turned into lofts and condos filling the surface lots. The new Guthrie Theater has relocated to a new building in the area as well.

New condos and development at the edge of the Mills district.

The old buildings have been converted to lofts; the silo has been turned into the Mill City Museum. I like the combination of the old and new. Along the river the ruins have been excavated next to a walking trail with interpretive signs.

This is where the water at the falls was diverted to power the mills. Below is an interpretive walkway through Mill Ruins Park. In the distance is the collapsed I35 bridge. Walking trails go along the river but were closed past this point because of the bridge collapse.

Across the river are other mills currently vacant waiting redevelopment. The old Stone Arch railroad bridge has been turned into a pedestrian crossing.

Other factories turned into lofts.

This shop is also powered, to a significant extent, by solar PV panels on the roof. Details about that can be found by looking under High Noon Solar on their web site.
