    2003 Census Population for MSAs

    from: http://www.census.gov/popest/metro.html

    1) Broomfield, CO was formed from parts of Adams, Boulder, Jefferson, and Weld Counties, CO on November 15, 2001 and was coextensive with Broomfield city.
For purposes of presenting data for metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas for Census 2000, Broomfield is treated as if it were a county at the time of the 2000 census.

This is from 2003. By now DFW has passed Philly. Also, Houston has passed DC by now.

It will be an interesting race between Houston and Miami. Who will blink first? I give the advantage to Houston for the simple fact that there are no real geographical bounderies in the Houston area to limit growth, unlike south Florida.

According to both 2004 and 2005 estimates I've seen, Houston is catching up fast to Miami.

Old data had SF-Oakland-San Jose all as one area, making it larger than the metroplex. Perhaps they reformulated things.
