Built to Spill is playing Denton's rapidly growing music festival, NX35 or whatever they're calling it. I like them quite a bit. I'd like it if the name was changed to Fry Street Fair....
^^ all good Rangers100 (both RE and M83 kill it live[and Beiruts prophet bar show was also outstanding]). My current faves are Typhoon, the Rosebuds, Gardens & Villa (playing 35 Denton in March), AgesandAges, and WU LYF. Can always listen to Port O'Brien though...

^^that's 35 Denton. They change the name every year it seems so maybe FSF is what they will choose next year
That lingering good 'ole boy network in Denton would freak out and stop the whole thing if the recreational drug use associated with the name Fry Street Fair ever shows back up. Too bad, there ought to be at least one weekend a year when it's okay to get high.
16 months after the song was published, Arcade Fire has released a video for "Sprawl II."
Fittingly disturbing:
The Arcade Fire in 2010 released an album that characterized American suburbs as depressing, anti-intellectual, thoughtless, brutal, and more.
Along with it they produced a short film saying the same. And now a video for "Sprawl II" again depicting American suburbia as all of the above.
If only they were not so mean and would just sing songs about suburbs being just another harmless and happy lifestyle choice.
Not sure if anyone here will like this at all but it rips so hard
Pavement never gets old...
Out on tour with the smashing pumpkins
Nature kids, i/they don't have no function
I don't understand what they mean
And I could really give a fuck.
The stone temple pilots,
They're elegant bachelors
They're foxy to me are they foxy to you?
The Fall(pretty much anything Mark E. Smith puts out)
John Zorn(dudes a mad scientist)
Weather Report(Sweetnighter lp...their best w/Wayne Shorter on sax)
youtube clips of street musicians(mainly drummers/percussionist)
Atlas Sound and Deerhunter(Bradley Cox makes some okay tunes)
Deerhoof(Milkman is an always AWESOME song to jam to)
I stumbled across this version of one of my favorite Christmas songs the other day. The little girl's voice has just the right balance of sweetness and power. Plus, it's the long version!
I encourage everyone to listen and enjoy. I just hope the singer is able to enjoy her youth without burning out or giving up on her talent.
^^The little girl's name is Rhema Marvanne. And it looks like she's local. Bonus!
It's been a really really long time: Roxy Music
...how did I forget about that?
Lol 'love my way' is an awesome song. It was in GTA Vice City which is where I found out about it. That's the only song from that group that I've heard, I should check out some of their other stuff.
The first 3 albums are great but they kind of lost me after that.
Not sure if this will work but here is my usual playlist on Spotify
