    Miscellaneous waterborne photos

Anyone else can post their shots on/in/under the water here, doesn't have
    to be just moi.

How about a random shot of a guy in a freezer below the ocean.
Photo taken at about -4 degrees fahrenheit at a depth below sea level of less than/equal/greater than 400 feet. : )

This one evolved into something interesting. Taken about a year before what I have to say next.

The guy on the left ended up dying in a car accident racing on a wet Washington state highway. RIP my brother.

The guy on the right tried out for the San Diego Chargers in 2003 and 2004. He was on TV in the pre-season.

This is where you eat at mealtime, or hang out and do other things at other times.

The guy in the middle with spiked-like hair would/will always fall asleep instantly, no matter
    where he was at.
This was not long before he dozed off yet again. (The only place he didn't fall
asleep that I know of was the freezer...)

Nah, I just knew he was doing freezer breakouts so I opened the door
and peeked in. Wanted a photo of it. It's usually humorous seeing a
guy buried in the freezer trying to find 1lb of bacon stuffed in a freezer coil!

Not under water, but on the water.

Here's a picture of my grandfather in about 1937, he was a radio operator on the
USS Augusta, flagship of the US Asiatic Fleet. They protected US interests in China
and along the Yangtze River prior to the Japanese invasion. Ever see the movie
Sand Pebbles or Empire of the Sun? (Sorry for the double exposure).

    What a cool photo.

I have some old photos of my grandfather in the 40s doing the SeaBee thing during WWII.
Also, numerous photos of two uncles and my father in Vietnam.
Some of the Vietnam ones are quite humorous - gotta scan them sometime.

Geez, interesting to see that the Navy hasn't really changed in 70 years.
I have some programs and newsletters regarding ritualized torture and other
weird ship-board practices during equator crossings and other events from
    Gramps' tour.

Regarding previous picture, I don't think the photo was an intential double
    exposure.

Always an uber-citygeek, had a Seattle picture at my "quasi-office" and a photo of San Diego on one of the 'puters.

The "office" is in one of these kind of food stores modules that is empty from mass-consumption...heh.

Saving cardboard, etc. under these modules because I said so...

Sending trash to the bottom of the sea is what is happening there. Fish food, yum.

I strongly felt a sleeper needed some company...

The boat's Doc learned to not leave a practice IV laying around in front of me ever again...

That's what he gets for dancing half-nekkid to "Rollercoaster" on a table asking for tips.

Keepin' the morale up by cleaning the Coke machine...
"Field Day" or clean-everything-up-day is every Saturday before lunch.

23 cookies, 1 freaky cook, and 1 cook with a chew in his mouth... in the Galley. Write him up!
Guess where the 24th cookie went....!

I Spy sand creations off Lake Michigan.

Strange sighting on the beach today. I swear I had nothing to do with this:

    Nor this.

But, I made a couple of friends while I spied all this weirdness.

    Back to the serious stuff.

    Jello(R). It's what's for dinner!

Da wardroom fancied up for Spam(R)... since we're all outta damn Jello(R) now.

Same ol' same ol', Spam(R) for everyone!
Call the Officer of the Deck and give me a 15 degree down bubble now!
I want this table cleared in a hurry!

A whining SNL cast member: " But don't break the China!."

    Gasp! The horror...

Time for Spam(R) fest 2004, but, not in da Wardroom this time.

Time to clean this shtuff up guys! Oh damn, wait, that's all the cold stuff we have left...? Uh oh.
    Spam(R) time again!

Clean dammit! Dust bunnies are weevil.

rolling thru all these makes me think of one of my best buds... stationed out of pearl, he was a TM.. evidently a lot like ole' sleepy (spiked hair)... he loves to sleep.. so much that he had a little crawl space in between one of the tubes and the hull (i think) that he used to nap in...
