It seems a bit like reinventing the wheel, but there is the pesky question of what to do with those "idle" platforms. I've had mixed feelings about the artificial reef programs, so this may be a viable option. Still, there is something about the "feedlot" aspect of it that diminishes the appeal of seafood as far as I am concerned. Are we going to start pumping fish with the same hormones and vaccines so prevalent in other Texas livestock? Opinion only, this smacks of a way for "good old boys" to have yet another mad scientist experiment which turns an obsolete oil operation into at least a "small" money-maker. Price per barrel of fish ... rising exponentially. Hmmm.
