    'Dallas' DVD

The first two seasons of 'Dallas' are now out on DVD. The "first" season is actually the initial 5 episode mini-series/pilot, so it is primarily only one REAL season.

My question is: Will you buy it?

The girlfriend and I bought this on a whim. I wanted to see the skyline shots in the opneing scenes and then we thought it would be fun to see the city within the shows. It has been fun seeing the parking lot that would later become the BoA and seeing people walk out of the Merc. I don't care about the plot as much as city watching.

Anyone notice that supposedly the oil compnay was based in Renaissance Tower, but the interior shots are from a high-rise on Turtle Creek?

I remember in later years you could see Bobby in his office with mountains in the distance through the window.

You say you don't care about the plot, but you sure do get interested in it!

I'm certainly enjoying watching it, for many reasons. #1 is to see shots of the city - I especially love the scenes shot in downtown, with street-level views of buildings which are no longer with us. We've already seen one shot of a character opening the door to our very building. That being said, I also do enjoy the over-the-top plots and characters. I like seeing the clothing/hair styles/interior decorating of the time period too. Campy? Yes, a bit. Great fun? Absolutely.
I tell everyone...I smile just because...I've got a city love...
