Nice pics. I had not seen Mesquite Memorial or Marshall with the new turf. The Texas abundance of nice stadiums continues to grow. The next crop looks to be even more nice. Cy Fair, DeSoto, Mansfield and Midlothian's stadiums all look great. Of course, Frisco's will be the nicest of all.

Arrow Valdosta Georgia, Prosper ISD, Mansfield ISD

Here's a nice one from out of state that has gotten a lot of publicity because of its expense (~$7million)

    Valdosta, Georgia High School

    <img src='http://www.valdostawildcats.com/stadium_renovation/aerial/images/DSC00004_small.jpg' width='200px' style='border: 1px solid #000000;'> <img src='http://www.valdostawildcats.com/stadium_renovation/aerial/images/DSC00007_small.jpg' width='200px' style='border: 1px solid #000000;'> <img src='http://www.valdostawildcats.com/stadium_renovation/open_house/images/2.jpg' width='200px' style='border: 1px solid #000000;'>

Perhaps the national media just doesn't know, or they just expect a lot out of Texas, but the new stadiums in Texas are all coming in at the $10-$15 million range. A few lately have even cracked the $20 million mark. They are much nicer as well. Especially the press and concession areas.

    anyways, back to Texas venues

    Prosper's practice facilities. Very impressive

    <img src='http://www.huckabee-inc.com/Portfolio/Images/big/SpecialUse/ProsperIAFWeb&PPT%20063%20web.JPG' width='200px' style='border: 1px solid #000000;'> <img src='http://www.huckabee-inc.com/Portfolio/Images/big/SpecialUse/ProsperIAFWeb&PPT%20066%20web.JPG' width='200px' style='border: 1px solid #000000;'> <img src='http://www.huckabee-inc.com/Portfolio/Images/big/SpecialUse/ProsperIAFWeb&PPT%20035%20web.JPG' width='200px' style='border: 1px solid #000000;'>

Finally I get some Mansfield renderings

well, like it or not it is part of Texas Culture as well as being informative. This is the single biggest collective of pics of these stadiums I have found yet on the internet, so I have sort of an obligation to the many out there that keep up with it as well.

I've noticed this about Duncanville as well. I guess its the advantage of being the only game in town. The same can be said about Allen, Rockwall and Carroll High as well.

This thread still rocks. Always fascinating to check out all the massive football
    stadia we have to offer.

I notice from time to time, this thread is being looked at by people from all over this
    country and Canada as well...

Btw, I recently got to see the inside of Garland's new arena thing for my friend's graduation. It's really nice, even if they did go a bit overboard with the modern styling. You can tell it was designed by the same people as my school (Sachse HS).

hold off on editing for a sec. I have some higher res versions of some of the pics that I want to thumnail as opposed to using the ones I've posted. I'll change these once I get enough time to upload them all.

Sounds good. Sorry for the editing-rampage, but like most picture-heavy threads, the constant page-push by images-in-the-process-of-downloading was getting pretty bad.

Note to Longview, LHHS is located in the City of Dallas, not the City of Richardson, but its ok. I hear people from out of the area call us LH, Texas and Richardson, TX all the time, heck our own local newspaper (DMN) considers us part of Richardson. (LH in the Richardson Morning News)

Anyway here are some photos of Lake Highlands High School Stadium. (Wildcats) It an old one, but is home side is always full.

The field covered in snow. (Dec. 2004) It’s a little colder up here.

    Close up!

Downtown Dallas in the Background. I’m on the ground. I know there are some beautiful views of Dallas from on top of those stands.

This is what the field looks like the other 364 days of the year. Taken from home looking at the visitors (Jesuit). LH Band on the field.

Field with the LH Highlandettes and the in the background is the Jesuit Band getting ready to perform.

End Zone, A little paint won’t hurt.

Finally, we may not have the best looking stadium, but we got some unbeatable views. This was taken from the Baseball Stadium looking over the B Football Field Stands to Downtown Dallas. If I can only get some pics from on top of the football Stadium!

I've come to the personal conclusion that Texas has the best stadiums in the world. Even though there expensive and probably not worth it, they look awesome.

^I dunno. They do list Kimball as a home team, which is odd with Sprague being behind the school. I would think they need to add rather than replace a stadium since DISD has always had too many Saturday and Thursday games.

    Great to see those

It's great to see how incredible ya'll facilities are down there. I'm from Tulsa, OK and I thought some of ours on the East Side (East of I-35/Tulsa Area) of the state were nice, but wow. I go to Jenks (Possibly could of heard of our football team. 6 straight 6A titles, last 7 of 6) and our rival school I thought was incredible, but nothing like that. We were going to play Mesquite last season at Texas Stadium, but Mesquite dropped the game to practice for their rival game I guess.
How is Coppell football? We played them in a baseball tournament down in Round Rock last year and they seemed good in that.

Does anyone have any pictures of the Klein schools field in Spring, TX? I have a friend who moved up here and he said they had nicer facilities but we took it more seriously. lol. jw, if some were posted, that'd be great.

Here are some of our rival, Tulsa-Union:

That's their basketball arena that backs up to their football field in the style of Oklahoma States Gallagher-Iba.

That was the only one I could find of it, but it has the jumbotron on the other end as well.

The main difference in TX football and other states are the sheer number of teams and schools, the lack of privates vs publics in large numbers and the constant, numerous competition that makes having a few powerhouses very difficult. So its very possible that a school like Jenks or Tulsa Union would take things more serious than most Texas schools.

Klein isn't exactly a powerhouse though it is a competitive team. Nothing like a Southlake Carroll, Katy or Lufkin. Mesquite is about like Klein. Competitive suburban school. Decent talent. Not really a powerhouse school. They are normally a middle of the pack team though they have had a couple of good runs the last couple of years. Coppell is about like the other two. They haven't had the highs though. For a few year they were in Carroll's district and took regular beatings from them. Just another suburban middle of the pack team. Not as much talent as Mesquite or Klein normally. You just have to realize there are thousands of schools in Texas. MAny suburbs have as many as 5-10 5A(greater than 2000 students) high schools. Its just hard for them to all be great. Usually its the one school 4A and 5A towns that are perenially the best.

As for the competition, you have to realize there are 2 metros in Texas with more schools and population than the state of Oklahoma and two others that are moving close to that number. You have the DFW metroplex with over 6,000,000 people. Lots of teams, lots of spread talent, lots of competition. Any great team can be as good as one from another state, but most state's lack that depth. I guess that's the biggest deal about Tx Football. Lots of football love in a lot of places. All this population and money gets you lots of great facilities. And just think, basketball is rapidly catching up in facilities, talent and passion.

Klein's facilities are nothing to write home about by new standards. Just typical metal stands and grass field surrounded by a track. The teams they play regularly though, like Spring ISD and Cy-Fair ISD teams have great facilities.

That makes 63 5a teams in the immediate metroplex. Not to mention there are just as many 4a and lots of 3a teams in the metroplex too. You also have Houston with just as many and SA and Austin combined is pretty close to that number too. Plus other smaller cities like Lubbock, Midland-Odessa, El Paso and east and central Texas having lots of 5a teams.

There's a brief article in this month's American School & University magazine authored by a local (HKS) architect. Not much information that hasn't already been discussed here except for lighting. The requirements for a television broadcast are way higher than just viewing and that is, of course, the standard for these new facilities.

Having any of these stadiums in the movie would of made it even more less of what happened in real life.
