Dallas-Fort Worth is one of the youngest metro areas in the nation.

If you live and work in the Dallas-Fort Worth area it's predictable that you might feel young – even if you're not.

The DFW area ranks 799 out of 942 metropolitan and micropolitan areas in the United States in median age, meaning we're among the youngest communities in America, according to analysis of Census Bureau data by On Number.

The median age of the 6,154,265 residents of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metro area is 33.3 years, On Numbers reported.

The oldest community in the country is The Village, Fla., which has a median age of 61.4 years. Florida in fact has four of the six areas with median ages over 50.

The most mature metro area in Texas is Fredericksburg, which has a median age of 49.3 years. The youngest community in the Lone Star state is Bryan-College Station at 25.4 years, which makes sense because it's a college town.

Where's the youngest community in the nation? That would be Rexburg, Idaho, at 23.3 years. Like Bryan-College Station, Rexburg is a college town. It's the home of the Idaho campus of Brigham Young University.
