Garland ISD opened a similar facility a few years ago. I wonder if we'll see a shift from theaters being built within junior and senior high schools for more of these consolidated venues.

The Mansfield ISD Center for the Performing Arts is scheduled to open late Spring of 2012. The Center includes two distinct venues; the Claude Cunningham Performance Hall and the John Washington Professional Development Center.

The Professional Development Center provides:
• Six meeting rooms (subdivided by moveable partition walls) that each hold a minimum of 50 participants in a lecture style format

Three adjacent computer “labs,” each with a capacity for 30 users, provides additional training support. A common lobby is shared by both the facilities with a single point of entry access.
