Passenger Rail Fort Worth to NE Dallas KCS Arch

A proposed passenger line that can run through the SW2NE line in Fort Worth, through DFW Airport, then taking northward turn at Downtown Carrollton station to connect with the KCS railway that runs through Denton and Collin counties to eventually curve south in NE Dallas county. It's a rather crazy rail line, but it could possibly serve to inspire others.

I'd suggest continuing it south with a stop at Samuell Grand...

    Good idea.

    Kay-o I made the change.

The station at Grand would give me easy access to the awesome Krishna temple/vegetarian restaurant known as Kalachandjis.

And see, I think it'd be great to continue it down Grand/I-30 (maybe in the HOV lanes? I can dream!) to Union Station. There looks to be plenty of room really. The canyon seems like it'd be the hardest part to do. There's always elevation! I have always lusted for this same line, though.
You must be the change you wish to see in the world.

I think DART is already planning a line to run eastward along I-30, or pretty close to it. Though I think they might have scrapped that from the 2030 plan.

I can pretty much tell you a line running away from DTD along the KCS in East Dallas would be meet with fierce resistance from the neighborhoods.

Best the East Dallas area could hope for is something with street cars.

If they were to run the train that way they'd have to use a deep trench, and cover it, then put a paved tree-lined bike path along the way to make it look pretty. Then one of the neighbors would say "I just don't like the idea of a train running deep underground near my house." or "Despite having no stations near my house mass transit will bring the homeless to come rob and terrorize my family."
