    DART Fantasy DART Bus Routes

What routes do you think would exist if DART were in non member cities?

Grand Prairie, Mesquite, Duncanville, Desoto, Wylie, etc.

Aren't the routes always within existing former heavy rail lines? You could probably map them within a few feet. The variation would be in station locations though I think DART has a standard rule on it outside core Dallas, X minutes between stations.

I'm sorry, I meant fantasy bus routes.

No fantasy of mine ever involves GP, Mesquite, Duncanville, DeSoto or Wylie

My only "fantasy line" involves uptown and Addison at night. The reasoning is below

I don't plan on driving a car the entire month of April and the only two concerns I had going in were: how am I going to get to church (started attending PCBC on NW Hwy and Preston in December [would've been much easier if I had kept going to HPUMC]) and how am I going to get to Flying Saucer in Addison every other Monday night to see friends and enjoy $3 pints. Turns out there is a bus route that goes almost directly from my apt to my adoptive church on Sunday mornings, but I will be stuck bumming rides to Addison.

    For any particular reason?

Well, if GP were a DART member city, they were going to have rail somewhere between Jefferson and Main, so a bus would not be needed right there. A line up and down Belt Line, say from the south GP transit center up to let's say West Irving. Carrier would also need a bus route but where to route it north of I-30 is a mystery to me. Possibly along Palace Pkwy then back south on Belt Line.

    Other routes
Would probably be cost prohibitive, but a Belt Line Rd. cross town that takes Belt Line the entire loop.

Does anyone know what type of bus service Coppell and Flower Mound had? Just express buses I assume?

Why doesn't the 463 out of Spring Valey station get you there? Return is on 400 going E on Belt Line. You have to walk 300 yards up N on Montfort to Belt Line and grab the 11:03 PM. If you are doing pints after 10:45 PM on a weeknight, I can't help you but I also recommend not bumming any rides from people that do.

Getting there isn't the issue, Google simply couldn't find a way back (and DART's website is awful). Thanks for the help!

Also, just want to point out that your 10:45 rule might be a good rule of thumb for those working 9-5s, but not everyone works that schedule (one guy shows up after work around 10 and I doubt anyone would have an issue driving home with him after 11)

If your place of work has a shower, or you do not have to wear suits to work, then it's probably not bad. From my own experience in Austin, I walked to my old job right until May when mornings started to get muggy. Unfortunately, I had to be in suit and tie.

I can get from my apartment to my office without even walking a half block (Trolley to DART to Bryan Tower, or prob find some bus route) so that's not the issue (will be even better once they extend the trolley line past Bryan Tower). The issue will be my social life

Use the schedule planner on DART page. It can be tricky but does deliver good info if you use good prompts.
    - Start with the map and get a range of routes
    - Use the "Where's My Bus Stop" tool to match up locations and routes
    - With the DART "location" the Schedule Planner will provide a quick answer
