Saw what?
I'm a block from there and haven't seen/heard anything.
ADDENDUM: Just checked DMN site. They say 2400 Main. That's around Good-Latimer, not Hall.

I'm not sure it's efficacious to poke fun at someone that may be having suicidal ideation.

I saw this one the way home from work. The police had Commerce and Main blocked off east of Hall.

Asking if the guy's pissed off isn't poking fun.
Asking a jumper "How far can you bounce?" (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1065033/How-far-bounce--The-extraordinary-taunts-sick-ghouls-jeered-teenager-leapt-death.html) -- that's poking fun. I guess that's what Great Britain gets for denying young hoodlums their guns.

I think I found the story: Man with rifle holds police at bay (http://www.wfaa.com/sharedcontent/dws/wfaa/latestnews/stories/wfaa081015_wz_rifleman.1178d5e1e.html). Bottom line: "Just before 10 o'clock, police used tear gas to force their way into the suspect's apartment." Nobody hurt, though some neighbors had to spend the night "elsewhere" because of the fumes.

thought you guys might find this interesting.
the guy who was a part of the standoff escaped from the mental hospital they stuck him in a couple of hours ago.

I've had the opportunity to visit some folks at Timberlawn, and I'm really surprised that they put the guy in there for observation. They have some minor "elopement precautions", but anyone who really wanted to be elsewhere could do so without much effort, just by making a run for the door at the right time. I would have thought that someone involved in a standoff with the SWAT team would warrant something a little more escape-proof... something with bars, perhaps. Hopefully, whatever evaluation showed that he wasn't dangerous enough for the cage was accurate.
