You might have seen the user bar in my signature & figured it our but, after spending countless hours on DFWUF, I've emulated as best I could to create an urban forum for Austin.

While Austin may not be the Mecca DFW is, there are tons of projects under construction and on the horizon. The states tallest residential tower is on its way up, the largest stadium in Texas (by capacity) is nearing completion, and just like Dallas, Austin's brownfield site is seeing new life being breathed into it. Commuter rail is set to start later this year followed by a form of light rail. I hope to bring a resource as valuable as this one just a little farther down 35.

I encourage all of you to contribute to Austin Urban Forum and leave me feedback of your opinions about the site.

Thanks.

EDIT: The site has been retired.

After months of trial and error, my Austin Urban Forum has been completely redone from stem to stern. Everything from the appearance to the content has been updated and more changes are on the way.

The homepage now has local weather from News 8 Austin (Austin's TXCN), featured polls, recently updated threads, and a "Tag Cloud."

The tag cloud makes it easy to navigate to similar articles throughout the forum submitted by users when starting and commenting on threads. Just click a tag on the cloud and a list with threads with the same tags pops up.

Take a look around and see what all is going on in Central Texas. DT Austin is seeing growth like never before and could very well be headed to being the densest residential DT in Texas. Please feel free to leave feedback of your opinions about the site here (or hopefully there!).

Is the austin urban forum still working??
I killed it a couple months ago. The forum was seeing less than 2 unique visitors a day in its final few months. Wasn't too fun talking to myself for 9 months straight.
