That fountain was actually named after a guy in my fraternity at Baylor, and a classmate at HP. His name is Ashley Priddy. What a goofball.

SDORN its being renovated. There is a companion posted after the Front burner one above, that explains that the fountain is being upgraded. Let me see if I can find again in my Google RSS Reader.

To steal a line from the under appreciated So Notorious, "Isn't it funny how that one extra flower made it almost vulgar and gaudy".

It's a pretty fountain but it's funny how the seemingly small addition of those planters turned it from a pretty fountain to something almost gaudy.

Is it the planters that are so strange? Or what appears to be the odd combo of agave cacti and bunches of perennials in them?

That fountain can't decide if it's in ancient Rome, 19th century Paris or current day San Miguel Allende. Other than being a little "McMansion-y" for my tastes, it's perfect for Highland Park, i.e. finding it's wandering inspiration "anywhere but here".

I like how there is a mediocre fountain put in place and everyone jumps on the oppotunity to criticize more of HP.

Its a fountain. just a fountain. Its just a nice little concrete slab with some water that looks nice as you drive by. Anyone want to criticize it for not having groundlevel retail?

If there's a tunnel in the area we should demolish it so there is more pedestrian traffic near the fountain. I also don't think that the fountain is "dense" enough.

Problems with the LED's are still being worked out. The main problem being that ordinary people might stop, get out of their cars, and look.

Why do I get the feeling the guy from Arkansas across the street had a hand in this?

All it needs is this:

HP is in the process of putting up tolltag lanes to tax those "normal people" that come through to look at the fountain. Once that is in place, the LED's will be up and running.

This fountain is just another example of the racist, elitist, and homophobic attitudes of Highland Park. First, it's all white. What are they saying here? If you're not the color of this fountain, get the Hell out! Next, it's spouting off WATER. Yeah, WATER. As in, I've got so much money, I'm just gonna spew out one of the Earth's precious resources. What's next? A fountain of oil? Good grief! Then, it doesn't say anything about gay marriage nor does it have any sort of phallic symbol. This is clearly an affront to the neighbors to the south in Oak Lawn. How is a gay person supposed to feel welcome without any sort of limp wristed welcome to HP wave? Am I going to have to do that myself? AGAIN? HP is so full of racist, elitist snobs. And this fountain proves it.

Anyone who thinks this fountain is just a fountain is kidding themselves! The next thing you'll tell me is that Lee Harvey acted alone and 9/11 was not some conspiracy between George Bush, the Illuminati, and the Easter Bunny. You people can't handle the truth! HP can't merely update an old fountain. There must be something more! It's HP. We must be angry with anything they do.

Well hamilton you are pretty close on the Oswald connection!

General Walker lived a few houses down from the fountain:
