I was wondering if anyone else read the article in the DMN on the area (I can't remember the exact name now!) behind Old Red and across from the court house. I think that it would be a wonderful idea to re-do that area and add some fountains and such. I don't know if I completely agree though with the thought of moving the JFK Memorial. Although if they may take up that ugly parking lot behind the TX School Book Depository and turned that into a specific memorial area that could be very nice! I'd like to know what people think.

I defintly agree that makign that parking lot a memorial is a great idea. Maybe they could add underground parking? Or hey, take away the parking, make people more reliant on DART to get downtown! Even better! hehe.
I think it's a good idea to re-do that greenspace, but I think that first all of hte ugly parking lots need to be taken care of. Even if it's just a one or two story development of residential, retial, or office -- anything to take up the space. And greenspace, fountains, etc. in some of those would work very well, too, i think.

You know what would be a fitting memorial for JFK? How about a brothel?
Either way, even Philip Johnson, the designer, hates that big bathroom stall memorial. It's awful.
