I looked at a cute townhouse near Jupiter and 15th that I'd like to rent; the price and location are great, but I'm not sure about the neighborhood.

Can anyone tell me if that area is iffy/scary or not? It's definitely not rich but I just want to see if it's dangerous or not.

I've spent some time in that area. It seems fine to me. How dangerous could Plano be anyway?

I don't think you can get away from crime in DFW. The criminals are mobile. I wouldn't even count on a gated neighborhood to make a big difference. You just have to be street smart no matter where you are.

My friend's brother was the manager of Best Buy in Plano on 75. One night about six years ago after he locked up the store, he was robbed and killed as he was walking to his car. The body was found in a ditch somewhere near old downtown Plano. His car was found somewhere south of I-30.

Another friend of mine also had a tragedy nearby around the same year. His 17 year old son was watching a movie at Cinemark Legacy with some friends. (Legacy/75 in Plano) After the movie he came outside to find someone robbing his car. They ended up car jacking him and killing him. (he died at Parkland). His car was found in Oak Cliff.

There isn't a single place on this planet that is immune to crime.

obviously you can't tell that to anyone because you always see people on the news saying they didn't think it could happen in their neighborhood.

All I know is that if you live in East Plano you are going to have the West Plano people looking down on you and talking shit. But you know the type.

Plano has excellent schools.

No Frisco must have better schools, because everything in Frisco is newer and better.
