I found this rendering of how dallas might look in about 3 years.

Tell me what do you all think?

do you have any renderings of the city?

Wow. the Woodall park is going to be one of the most important and face-changing things ever to happen to urban Dallas. Great picture.

Whats crazy is that these renderings don't even include all of the high-rises that may likely be built...

Whoever built those apartments off Field next to Victory (Jefferson?) is sure sitting on a gold mine. I always knew that piece of land was enormous, but this angle really shows it.

On the Subject of Landscape, there is a misconception on what type of landscape Dallas/Ft Worth has:

I hear that Dallas Does not have any Trees and very flat:

Those renderings of the Woodall park struck me as odd, having walked through that area numerous times, but I couldn't place it. It's the depiction of the Woodall Rogers service road sections. Those roads are high volume arteries; they are not placid, tree lined streets. I noted some of the comments about not letting roads cross the park. Those crossing roads are not the important ones. Many alternatives exist for them. It's the service roads that carry a lot of traffic from above the park location to below the park location. I assume that traffic could get directed on to McKinney and Cedar Springs, but it would not be pretty.

Every city has trees. Dallas is mostly dominated by prairie though. There are beautiful hills and trees in Dallas, but they don't dominate the region at all.

Every city has trees. Dallas is mostly dominated by prairie though. There are beautiful hills and trees in Dallas, but they don't dominate the region at all.

The northern and newer areas are more prairie but many established areas like oak cliff and south Dallas are ridiculously tree infested.

The odd part is, people drive up say 45 north and ignore the tree-lined highways as blighted areas and then get to 75 from Dallas to Allen and see generally tree sparse highway and somehow think the northern half looks better.

Here's a photo of the Lawnview dart rail station clearing within the tree filled area to the left:

http://www.projectrun.com/examplepics/dart_lawnview.jpg

Also, there is a huge disparity in rainfall east to west across the metroplex so naturally over time the areas to the northeast are going to have more trees:
