Does anyone know of an online grocery store with delivery for Dallas? I used Peapod in NYC and loved it.

My wife and I used albertsons.com when we moved into our loft in 2004.

What is the charge?

Not sure about here yet. When I was in NYC it was $9 extra for the delivery. But much better than carrying bags through the city.

Does Dallas have freshdirect.com? Prices seem to be the same as stores for the most part, delivery is $5.00 and no tipping involved. My neighbors in NYC swear by them. Everything from toothpaste to prepared meals and even wine. I've been cruising the website, but have yet to take the plunge. Just go to the website and type in your zip code to see if they deliver to your area.

Not to be a dick or anything, but instead of people asking if an online grocer serves the Dallas area, why not check their site? After all, you are sitting in front of a computer.

I just went to freshdirect.com (http://www.freshdirect.com) and entered in my Dallas zip code (75201) and my old Richardson zip code (75081). Both came up with the message that FreshDirect is not available in my area.

Groceryworks.com takes me to safeway.com (http://www.safeway.com), and when I check the New Customers area, I notice the following:

Now delivering in: Arizona, California, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia, Washington and Washington D.C.

When I intially posted about albertsons.com (https://www.albertsons.com/brand_default.asp) , I checked peapod.com and found that it doesn't serve 75201 or 75081.

By looking a little deeper in the albertsons.com site, I found this:

After you are done shopping, a service fee of $9.95 for delivery or $4.95 for pickup will be added at checkout.

I hope this helps.

I'm constantly amazed that people will get online and log into an internet forum and ask a question, when they could find the answer easier and faster by using google.com.

I can understand someone asking for opinions about something they've already looked into.

My own brother once emailed me asking me to send him the job listings from the Dallas Morning News and the Star-Telegram. I emailed him back a half-dozen links to job sites and newspaper job listings with the admonishion that he was, "...sitting in front of arguably the world's most powerful information tool, use it."

The reason I asked is that I did a search for the stores that I knew but came up with nothing. I've never heard of Albertsons; therefore, I didn't make it to that site. Before you leave Asinine remarks consider why people are asking such quetions (my post even states I'm brand new here).

My post wasn't directed at you. I apologize for not making it clear that it was not your post about which I was commenting. I chose not to single anyone out so as to not look like I was attacking anyone. Apparently it didn't work as well as I'd hoped.

I understand why you'd ask what companies would deliver groceries here, and have no problem with it. That's why I initially responded with albertsons.com. It's some of the other posts that riled me up this morning. For example, sterling's post asking about freshdirect.com. All he had to do was go to that site to see that they don't operate in Dallas.

I know that peapod does (or used to) serve parts of Dallas. I know that Downtown is not one of them. I assumed that you had checked with them to see if they service the area to which you're moving, hence your initial post.

My remarks were not asinine, they provided information germane to the topic at hand.

Again, all of my posts in this thread after my initial post were aimed at people other than you.

And I'm really not as much of a dick as I sometimes appear to be here.

She didn't ask for the grocers that DON'T SERVE DFW. Hey monogodo, I want to go shopping in Dallas. Can you tell me which stores don't serve the metroplex. Thanks.

From post #2 in this thread (http://forum.dallasmetropolis.com/showpost.php?p=140655&postcount=2), 37 minutes after paige's initial post:

My wife and I used albertsons.com when we moved into our loft in 2004.

Again, what have your posts added to this thread? So far, I've supplied an online grocer that serves Dallas, as well as shown that online grocers that others have suggested don't serve Dallas. If you need me to diagram this thread, in an easy to understand manner, so that you can fully follow what was said, I'd be more than happy to oblige.

And to answer your question: Neither Piggly Wiggly nor Publix serve the Metroplex. Glad to be of service. If there's any thing else I can help you with, just let me know.

They can't even keep everything in stock at the store... hell no, they don't need to deliver. But, I don't go there anyway.

Some people used Garden.com in 1996 but who uses it now? I'm sure she appreciated your comment two years ago but your laziness (to not verify) and your whining (about others not verifying) amuses noone.

Ok, let me post this information one more time, in a way that is clear to everyone (I admit that my initial posting of it may not have been clear).

Albertsons.com (http://www.albertsons.com/store/?market=10001) currently serves the Dallas/Ft Worth/Arlington area, I know because I checked, three times now. When checking an online service to see if they serve the D/FW area, I put in 75201 (my current zip code), and 75081 (the zip code I had when I lived in Richardson). One might wonder why I checked Richardson, since paige initially asked about Dallas. I checked Richardson because her location is listed as Richardson. I figured I'd go the extra step and make sure that any service I recommended worked there, and not just Dallas. The information I provided about Albertsons.com is current, valid, and thoroughly researched.
Granted, my complaint about people not using tools at their disposal was off-topic. Would you rather I start a fresh thread complaining about the idiocy of the average internet user? Would you attack me in that thread, too?

I take offense to you stating I'm lazy -- I'm anything but. I checked every online grocer mentioned in this thread. I input not just one, but two zip codes to ascertain availability of services. I posted information in every post (but one) that could be of use to the topic at hand. How much help have you given in this thread? I even apologized to paige for my lack of clarity in one post, and admit that other posts I've made could have been clearer. I reluctantly singled out sterling's post so as to make it clear to paige that I was not referring to her. If you have a problem with what I post, put me on ignore. I'll even be a nice guy and make it easy for you:

Yes. I will.

I take offense to you taking offense about my statement.

Anyways, you did a better job this time. However, I would like this in a more legible format. Please use smaller paragraphs. Paragraph headings would be nice (bold, underlined). Also, please include nice charts and tables for those of us that don't want to read all the fluff.

If you are even more anal than I think you are, feel free to create a website detailing all of this and put a link at the end of your post in case we want more information on the subject. Thanks.

I apologize for making a suggestion without fully checking out the ramifications of trying to be helpful. After all, no good deed seems to go unpunished in here. The truth is I WAS too lazy to research any Dallas zip codes, and as there MIGHT be more than one I thought Paige might have a better clue about her address than I. Silly me. And I appreciate mono not actually naming me as the culprit, though it seems that once again I am responsible for forcing someone's personality to become overwhelmed by their raging (and talking) genitalia. That being said, I suspect the aforementioned is no big deal.
