It's in Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaufman_UFOs), so it must be true, right? Right???

Kaufman UFOs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kaufman UFOs are a series of reported UFOs spotted in Kaufman, Texas. In 2005, the area began experiencing a UFO "flap" that is still ongoing.

The people living in and near this city, located near Dallas began noticing some bizarre things and "craft of unknown origin". Most of the UFOs photographed are the classic "lights in the sky" objects; some appear to be constructs, such as discs (the classic flying saucers). All of these things have been spotted apparently undergoing maneuvers that, if attempted by aircraft of conventional construction and engineering, would destroy the craft, or its passengers, or both.

As of 29 October 2005, there have been no reports of aliens landing, people getting abducted by aliens, animals getting killed and/or mutilated; all of the reported encounters are of what Mufon, other UFO research organizations call a "CE-1"- meaning that the UFO is only seen, often not near the observers, and some of these observers may be using optical aids, such as 10x, 40x, 100x binoculars and/or small telescopes, rifle scopes. The latest UFO to be videotaped was on 28 October, 2005 in the Kaufman area itself. The latest UFO photographed was on 5 September, 2005 at the Lake of the Pines, located near Kaufman. The UFO seen in the 28 October 2005 videotape is seen moving all over the place, even teleporting.

Lakewooder and I are having an alien's baby. I would tell you its name, but to pronounce it correctly, I would have to sever your tongue.

What?
That was pretty much what I said when I saw the article. Although I expanded the thought somewhat, in an expression usually written as "WTF?"

I've seen plenty of lights in the sky in Kaufman county. You'd be surprised at how clear it is just an hour out of town, especially to the southeast where there's little illuminated development (with the notably bright exception of Seagoville's Club Fed). But I've never seen anything that wasn't clearly either of human origin, or of a benign celestial origin -- including very cool meteors, sometimes with trails and odd colors.

I was driving home from work when that big one went across the northern sky -- remember the one that was captured in a Garland (IIRC) police officer's dashboard cam? I saw it over my shoulder, but even just that glance was extremely cool. Mysterious, even. But hardly unidentified. Someone needs to spend some quality time at badastronomy.com (http://www.badastronomy.com/).

Somewhere I saw a page that had pictures of purported UFOs, all well organized and the higest resolution available. There were several from one guy in Kaufman. here's a link to one (http://ufocasebook.com/kaufmanco061705.html)

I talked to some of my alien contacts from my days in Roswell and they confirmed that no alien aircraft have been in or around Kaufman. In his own words, one alien told me: "It's probably some Kaufman County jagoff playing games with wikipedia again"

They're still flying around, on Wikipedia at least. The primary author is strenuously (but graciously) pushing for the page to remain. Meanwhile, the latest pictures (see my talk page) look like a chicken and a box kite.

I really thought that it would be a slam-dunk "delete" vote. I'm amazed/appalled/aghast (choose any 2) that the delete vote may be closed as a "no consensus" keep.

Good to see you on the board! Yeah, I think the article is better suited to perhaps Uncyclopedia (http://www.uncyclopedia.org) than Wikipedia.

Conclusion: The Kaufman UFOs have been grounded (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Kaufman_UFOs).
