Can anyone see DP&L right now?...
They're projecting 3 movies on the side of the building..
I'd take a picture, but don't have the camera right now..
Anyone know what's going on?.. Just to get some attention maybe?..
Look's really cool...

Unfortunately no.. I could barely make out what it was from my window... It only ran for a few hours anyway.. I hope they do it on a regular basis though.. It looked really cool... kinda made for a times square vibe.. if such a thing is possible..

Interesting. Top and bottom appears to be from a Thunderbirds DVD (top "screen" looks to me from the DVD menu). As for the middle one...I have no idea. And I feel like I should know because I am kind of an anime geek. But the clarity of the movie's picture against the wall is just not enough for me to tell.

I saw them the other night when I was walking down Commerce. I like that. It'd be cool if they could project it on all sides of the building.
Where is it projected from?

^That would be cool, but i dont think it be wise to project a movie on a biulding's side that has windows, then you'd disturb the residents!! Then they'd scream at you and slice your throat!! :D :D

yeah... its not the best quality in person, but its even worse when shot with a still camera, as the exposure is a few seconds long - at least... so you're seeing around 4-5 seconds worth of video crammed into one (still) frame... the bottom one came out fairly clear because that particular view/sequence in the cartoon was longer than the exposure itself..

I still can't figure that out! It appears to be coming from on top of schlotsky's, but tough to tell... it even continues in the rain, so if it is outside, it has to be an all-weather projector... //not sure
DalLove444: you're right.. people bitch about some of the most assinine things down here... sometimes i wish they'd just move (back) to the burbs...

That is true --it would disturb the residents...but blah to them. It'd look cool...so tough! Hehe.
Ninja, I agree. I hear some pretty craptastic complaints. Oh, well. I like living here despite the Negative Nellies.
I actually wonder how bright it would be on the residents' side. It's a weak picture so it doesn't seem that bright. But to shoot from however far away it is, it must have quite a bit of strength --enough to disturb some people.

word- me too... and i can't see it being all that bright..now when elm place is lit?... that's a whoooooole other story.... like a griswald family christmas on steroids...
it would work really well off sbc's facade also... being white and windowless.. which ever number that is (sbc2?)
they (fuse) also use the tri-pane window on the lower right corner of dp&l as a screen.. they've got an actual screen hanging which makes for a pretty nice picture..

Poor Elm Place. I love to see that building lit. It adds to the skyline. But my apartment's farther from it than yours, so I don't get any of. My view is of my neighbours' windows --and Thanksgiving Tower. Neither of which is all that exciting (couldn't I at least get a ((hot)) nudist so I'd have an amusing story to tell?).

Ninja, why aren't these walls serving as the backdrop for YOUR work? After all, you've even starting doing people now! I think folks would love seeing local attractions, your geometric fantasias of reality, and other buildings in the area, as well as themselves 5 stories high. Whoever thought this up, must be an interesting person enough to consider branching out "just a bit" more. This kind of presentation is so ephemeral, they wouldn't wanted it to be too predictable. Just a suggestion, Lord knows I get it wrong once in a while. Your fan, Sterling.

Or mayhaps even on the Victory screens. Didn't they say they wanted to include local artists in the video/images they show on those screens? I definitely think they should. Put some local work and non-advertisement on those screens to give the place a pulse. That'd be hot.
The Ninja Hour in Victory Plaza. I'll bring lawn chairs! and beer! Or just beer!

I'm there. It'd probably be the only thing I could afford to do in Victory.

Where is it projected from?
last night on my way to urban market, i noticed a tall tower projector on top of fuse.. so thats that..
tonight when on my way home from urban market, i noticed they're now projecting at least two or three more on the west side of neiman's parking garage.. which make me think its not fuse doing it, its the management co for the building.. which makes even more sense now that I think about it.. whenever i explored the building last summer I remember they have this side hallway with some vintage looking monitors projecting some trippy, cartoon looking image on them - at ground level, facing upward.. tough to explain... i think i have a shot somewhere...
ah yes.. found it... pls excuse the quality

Aaah, cool. I like that they're doing that. Adds some funkiness to the area.
Thanks for your investigatory skills.
