This looks a lot like the Dallas Ritz Carlton which is the reason that I posted it. Even though there are different architects and different operaters ,the programs are very similar IMO. I guess the super rich are the same no matter the city.

The programs are very similar. But going on Ritz website and research their different hotels, you will find a wide array of architectural styles. Never heard of St. Regis until now.

Wasn't there a St. Regis in Houston a few years ago?

If the current interest level in the ultra-luxury accommodations which are redeveloping LoMac and energizing the Turtle Creek corridor continues beyond the opening dates of some today's really big deals (e.g. Cresta Bella, Ritz, Azure, House, MandarinOriental), then we should expect big names like St. Regis to keep coming. No idea how many million dollar condos it would take to reach a critical mass, but LoMac is steadily working to become the highrise residential counterpart to Preston Hollow and Highland Park. If you get 5,000 millionaires living within walking distance of The Crescent, then surely you have a sustained ultra-luxury retail market quite a bit nicer than Buckhead Plaza.

Buckhead is also very removed from the downtown sector of Atlanta. Its off the Marta, but Buckhead is still disconnected. Its a bit like being up at the Galleria. Funny thing about Atlanta is that Post properties is based there, but their properties are much more of your typical suburban property in Atlanta.

^Ya, being right downtown is location bonus to give LoMac residents a prefered setting more easily associated with big city fancy living.

The St. Regis New York has my favorite hotel bar, The King Cole. If you look closely at mural, it appears the King has just broken wind, or so the story goes. You never know who you will see in there. I remember sitting at the bar once when I heard, "I'm David Susskind." I was trying very hard not to turn around too fast!

The greatest hotel in New York should have a gem of a hotel bar and sure enough it does. It was at Harry’s Bar in Paris that Fernand Petiot created the Bloody Mary, but it was here, at the King Cole bar that he perfected it - spicing it up a few notches and renaming it the Red Snapper. Decades on they still call it the Red Snapper and it’s as sexy and spicy as a Bombay supermodel in sari and stilettos. The bar itself is a small rectangular room with towering ceilings and wide glass doors that open out onto the St Regis’s marble floor patio restaurant. Guests, high-rollers and girls with millionaire uncles take seats on the wall banquettes and gaze up at the striking Maxfield Parrish mural of Old King Cole that looms over the scene. (His fiddlers three are in there too!) If you’re feeling peckish you should know that they serve almonds, macadamia nuts and green wasabi peas for snacks. Pure class - Long live the King!

Only a matter of time before Dallas gets a St. Regis. I only wonder where...Uptown is just about built out. St. Regis is a little too conservative for Victory. My guess would be that last lot on Turtle Creek and Cedar Springs, unless there is one still available in the Arts Disctrict.

That would be unbelievable. A St. Regis, Ritz, W, and Mandarin just mere blocks away from each other if St. Regis ever decides to build one in Dallas. All you need then is a Peninsula and you're set.

Its name is synonymous with luxury and for the St. Regis hotel that’s usually enough.

But to convince guests to loosen their purse strings in one of the worst recessions on record, the brand is upping the ante.

In addition to its world-renowned butler service, the West Paces Ferry Road hotel, whose grand opening is April 14, features fireplaces in public areas, Turkish limestone and Venetian plaster in the Paces 88 restaurant and a pool piazza with the feel of Italy.

The hotel’s 151 rooms will include Macassar ebony furniture and TVs embedded in the mirrors of marble bathrooms.

“It’s a sense of arrival,” said general manager Simon Rusconi, standing below a 750-pound chandelier made of more than 1,000 pieces of finely-cut crystal. The goal, he said, was to create a fine Buckhead home on a hotel scale.

“As soon as you come in, you know you’ve escaped,” he said.

Officials hope the Atlanta Symphony Associates’ Decorators’ Show House & Gardens, which will be held at the St. Regis April 18 through May 10, will help create buzz.

Paul Freeman, the hotel’s builder, said he thinks St. Regis will have no problem getting business, even in this economy. People are always attracted to what’s new and the brand’s fans will be able to take advantage of St. Regis hallmarks like high tea , he said.

“Even in hard times, I think we will do well because when people come to Atlanta, this is where they’ll want to stay,” he said.

I saw that St. Regis was planning to come to Dallas, and I believe they had it posted as a future opening on their website. Now it's gone? Are both the St. Regis and Mandarin Oriental projects cancelled?

Wouldn't surprise me with today's market. Maybe the next development cycle.

Which should come sooner because they weren't built.

This place is incredible. I recommend anyone to go there. Its like a dream place you only see on TV. Especially for a place like Atlanta. Good work!
