http://novaregroup.com/images/portfolio/centennialhill.jpg Officials from Novare Group and downtown and neighborhood representatives broke ground Monday for downtown Atlanta's next residential tower overlooking Centennial Olympic Park and Ivan Allen Boulevard. With brisk sales poised to populate Twelve [Atlantic Station in Midtown, Novare is building a second Twelve at the corner of Spring Street and Ivan Allen. The new development will feature two 39-story residential towers with a 16-story hotel in the middle. When complete in July 2007, Twelve Centennial Park will house 1,034 residences, 102 hotel rooms, 20,000 square feet of retail space and 12,000 square feet of office space. Residential units in Twelve Atlantic Station are 90 percent sold, according to Novare officials. The first residents at Atlantic Station will move into the building in December, when the event space and the restaurant, Lobby, also are set to open. Sales of Twelve Centennial Park will begin early next year.

It is tall, but not so cool. I like some of the other buildings Atlanta has going but not this one. They can have it.

Excuse me? If we don't like one project in Atlanta we sound like Houston? It looks like a dorm but I am sure it will sell out and good for Atlanta, just glad that isn't being done here.

That is this project's strongest-and IMO,best-feature;its' location:
It is located directly adjacent to the Civic Center MARTA station, one of the systems largest that also serves as a major destination/origination point for several commuter bus lines.Further,Novare ,the developer and Barry Cos.,the developer of Allen Plaza ,are jointly recruiting the retail for the area.(see attached thumbnail)
With the proximity to the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola(now collectively known as Pemberton Place, for the inventor of coca cola),this project will be a catalyst to some very interesting "new urbanis"t projects.Very similar to what is happening in such dramatic fashion at Victory Park.It is really looking good.

Twelve Centennial Park is listed as Peachtree Portal on the thumbnail ,its original name.
