Epicenter Reclaims Charlotte Convention Site

GDA’s plans for a 54 story mixed-use tower, the tallest residential tower in Charlotte, are underway. The tower is to be part of the ”EpiCentre,” a retail, entertainment, and office complex at a prime location in Uptown Charlotte. The tower component includes 45 residential floors, along with 5 levels of offices and 4 levels of parking garage that GDA is coordinating with DMR Architects of Charlotte. The 679,000 SF structure will include 400 plus dwelling units. Amenities include a valet drive, lobby, clubhouse with 2,000 SF terrace overlooking downtown, aqua lounge, fitness center, a “sky bridge” connection to light rail services, and a 20,000 SF urban roof deck located on the 10th floor. The roof deck features an ample pool and spa area, mature landscaping, yoga courtyard, putting green, intimate fire pit area, cabana, and abundant views of downtown Charlotte..

In this day and time, I cringe that anyone would actually CHOOSE to call something an "epi-centre". Yikes. Looks like a great building nonetheless.

When I grow up and become a rich, ignorant developer, I'll call my latest 50+ story tower "Ground Zero!" Everyone will love it.

Full of epi-men and epi-ladies. Smooth.

All these new building are starting to look the same. This one would fit just as well in Charlotte's Epi-Center, Dallas' Victory and Atlanta's Atlantic Station. I'm just guessing but probably somewhere in Houston, Phoenix and San Diego there's a big master planned development in progress which will have a building that looks like this.
