If the forum can take the stress, I'd like to give away another iTunes code. Yep, my latest bottle of Mountain Dew contained another free song. I'll give it away to the first list member who can name the first album released by the Dixie Chicks. Hint: it's not "Wide Open Spaces". Further hint: my Dixie Chicks site is the first result on most Chicks-related Google queries.

Note: out of fairness, previous winners are ineligible. Sorry, tamtagon. :(

Well, if you're going by the discography on your site, Danger in the Air.

But.. Thank Heavens For Dale Evans. I have a copy on casette.

Here's a tidbit of Dixie Chicks info.. when I was like 5, they played at the Carrollton amphitheater where Jackson Rd curves into Scott Mill, and I stayed after to meet them and got a kiss for it ;)

Alright, that's a *very* complete answer! I wish I still had time to search for Dixie Chicks stories like this to add to my Stories Page (http://www.dixie-chicks.com/stories.shtml). If my second bottle has a code on it, I'll send it to you as a bonus. Meanwhile, I'll send you the code from this bottle by PM.

no mas!
Is that an official proclamation, or just an exasperated exclamation?

I have the first two CDs, and I went to School with Emily at Greenhill. Her mom was my 8th grade english teacher. Back then they were very Bluegrass and they wore very, very "western" outfits (fringe, etc).

Back in the early 90s my old Civil War reenactment unit was doing a living history demonstration at some dog and pony show over in Rockwall. I was the U.S. flagbearer that day, and we were scheduled to do a flag ceremony after some country group named the Dixie Chicks finished their performance. There was some kind of delay though, and then the performance ran long, so all this time we in the color guard were standing in formation and the flag I was carrying just seemed to get heavier and heavier. We finally got to do the ceremony, but by that time I was hot and very achy and peeved that some dumb no-name country band made us wait all that time. :D
