Hi folks. Just wanted to add to this forum which I have been reading for a long time, and give you my quick story. (I hope I have this in the right place, being my first post!)
I have just moved here to this wonderful area from Austin. I did live here in 96-98, but didn't appreciate it like I do now. When I did live here, Dallas ate me alive. Something I was not prepared for. Spent money like a drunken sailor (very easy to do here!), and as a result built up a resentment towards the city for doing that to me. I know, I know....it was MY fault! But I gotta have someone or in this case someplace to blame. I headed to Houston (cool place), then back to Austin where I had lived for 16 years. Whenever I would come up to Dallas, I felt the old resentment come up. I would literally spit on the ground! (I had issues!!) lol
Well lo and behold, seems I've had a major change of heart. I have been thinking about moving back up here for more than I year. I have been researching all I can about the DFW area, and would like to say that this forum has been extremely helpful. You all certainly show a lot of pride in Dallas, and rightfully so. I will probably not be posting very much here, as I am not informed about what is going on like many of you do. But now I have a great respect for this area, and decided to move back for good. Dallas has many opportunities for anyone. Just gonna grab the bull by the horns! And with all the development going on, in about 5 years, Dallas will truly be the place to be!
Anyhow, I will continue to read your posts daily. Thanks to everyone for all you do. It's GREAT being here!!
