I have been disheartened to learn of two recent deaths during my 3-month excursion underwater in radio silence. I was unaware of Stanley Marcus (1905-2002)
and
Mary Kay Ash (1918-2001)
passing.

Yes, I KNOW. Mary Kay's death was 3 months ago. It's new as of minutes ago to me. The same few minutes ago in which I learned of the more recent demise of Stanley Marcus.

They were institutions and will be sorely missed.

Yes I heard about those. There's a article in the Austin-Amrerican-Statesman about Stanley Marcus with his picture. Also, did you hear about Dave Thomas? The founder of Wendy's Restuarants died too, around a month ago. I was watching our copy of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", the movie version, and he was on there talking about being adopted. I really liked the guy, thought he had a good sense of humor. Carrol O'Connor died too, "Archie Bunker", actor Jack Lemmon and bluesman John Lee Hooker. And Jim Varney, "Ernest" died last year. Losing Jimmy Stewart was sad too. Probably my favorite actor of all time.
