<!--startindex-->HOUSTON -- In a case of life imitating art, a Houston movie theater has shut down while workers hunt for an 8-foot snake spotted by a maintenance worker.

Among the movies playing at the 16-screen Tinseltown theater is the horror-thriller "Anacondas." <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 align=right border=0><TBODY><TR><TD></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

The Tinseltown plex in northwest Houston has been closed for more than a week after the janitor spotted what appeared to be a Burmese python slithering in front of one of the screens.

Apparently the snake was as startled by the janitor as he was of the snake, and it hasn't been seen since. But the owner -- Cinemark USA -- says it won't reopen the theaters until a professional snake-catcher certifies the serpent has left the building.

Cinemark spokeswoman Terrell Falk said three separate crews of professional snake-catchers have been brought in to look for the snake, but nothing's been found so far.

ugh! can't stand snakes! I think it's cause i went to a rattlesnake round-up as a kid and got freaked out by all the snakes and snake items. I'm glad they closed the theater...i probably wouldn't even go there with the thought that there was one in there!
