One thing I wanted to bring up is Dallas parks. Now, don't get me wrong. I am very excited about getting a park downtown if possible, but I also think that they (the city of Dallas) needs to take a better look at some of the parks that we have. I live right on the Katy Trail and Turtle Creek. The first time that I walked I was shocked to see all this empty land right on Turtle Creek where a saw quite a few homeless people sleeping. Then I walked by Reverchon Park, and it looks like it has a lot of possiblities of being one of the greatest parks, but when I drove down there its really scary at night. Also, Turtle Creek itself could be wonderfully, especially since its so rare to see some decent natural water running through the metro area in Dallas, but it is all overgrown with, as I call them, trash trees and brush. And it seems like the creek is trying to collect the worlds largest amount of trash bags down by Cedar Springs. Now I know I am exageratting a bit, but we have a beautiful area which Frank Lloyd Wright called "The most beautifull boulevard in the nation." Sorry for rambeling but I'd like to know what everyone thinks on this.

Good points.
Dallas is not known for its parks maintenance record. Reverchon Park is nice with potential to be awesome; Griggs Park and Cole Park have great locations and are surrounded by mostly new residential Uptown development. Uhhhh, and there are many others that I am leaving out. You are right, Dallas does need to focus on its current parks. Having said that, there is still a major need DT greenery.

oh yeah, let's move this discussion to the <a href="http://pub50.ezboard.com/fthedallasmetropolisfrm2.showMessage?topicID=168.t opic" target="top">MetropolypseNow - Downtown Park Proposal</a> thread if you don't mind. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D">
