Blue Star Land LP, a development company owned by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones, plans to break ground this year on a 529-acre, 900-home residential community in Allen, north of Dallas.
The development will include parks, hike-and-bike trails and retail sites, and homes are expected to be priced between $200,000 and $450,000, according to a local report.
The Allen project will be Blue Star's first since the company launched Starwood, a luxury masterplanned community in Frisco, a few years ago. In contract with Starwood, the new development won't target high-end homebuyers, although Blue Star may consider raising the price range for houses in the Allen community, a Starwood spokeswoman told the Dallas Business Journal.
