Who all has gone ahead and registerred on this board? I really, really like this layout. It's going to be a litle difficult to determine which group to put threads in, though! So many choices now! But I love it. Now it's simply time to get alot more people on board and get the 'electricity' flowing!

Here's some pictures that I really like from the Dallas Main Street Revitalization, BTW. Many, if not all of you, have probably seen these, but just in case you haven't, I think it's worthwhile to post them here. All are taken from www.downtowndallas.com.

What's that second picture?

The second picture is for a brand-new construction development, the first major building to rise from empty space in a good while, and what will likely house a Krogers. This has already gone to the City Council, I beleive, but I'm not sure how they voted on their support (both morally and financially) if this project... I think it looks quite nice, though.

Wow...I like it...and a grocery store? Finally!

Well, all they have to do is wire over some money to the council, and they're gaurunteed a place! ;)

Great pic bloodandpopcorn. I am eager to see that restaurant work begin. The three levels of bar/restaurant space will add a nice dimension to Pegasus Plaza. Is anyone aware of the expected start date?

It sure will!

Question about that second picture again...is it all new construction? Those two look like they are already there.

I suddenly really ADORE Kroger. ;)

Way to go! I like that restaurant area! I'd definitely like to know a timeline also.

Yes, on the second picture, the one on the center and in color is the new development. The 'darkened' parts to either side are already there. I think it fits in very nicely, and will be a great addition to downtown if/when it happens.

About the restaurant/plaza, i haven't seen a start date, but I'd assume work will begin very soon. Since they've already booked the major restaurant, and as Downtown is starting to revive quite a bit, I don't think they'll be hesitating too much. And it's funding is already approved.

Bloodandpopcorn, the new development also has a building that is already there. It is the right third of the center section. That is the 16 story Gulf States Building on the northwest corner of Main and Akard.

From left to right are: The Davis Building (dark), new development (light), The Gulf States Building (light), and the Kirby Building (dark).
