Development @ Hall Street & Central

Does anyone know what is going on at the northeast corner of Hall and Central Expressway? The older buildings on the corner were torn down a month or so ago, and there appears to be the start of some construction activity over there.

I could be wrong- but I beleive I learned at some point that an apartment complex is being built. I think the apartments will be geared towards lower income families- just like the new townhomes located behind it..

you may be right Kelly. I think the structures there before were "the projects." They may be a DHA project. The constructionis being done by Meridian Commercial LLP
( www.meridcom.com ), but they have nothing posted on their site. I am sure something official will be released somewhere.

I heard recently that 2 grocery stores were bidding for land around Hall on the West side of Central. Anyone know about this rumor?

I welcome this kind of development as much as the other. That is a part of Dallas that desperately needs to be renovated. In fact, there are many parts of east Dallas that need some help.
