I found this blurb interesting:
In planning the new facility, Children's reviewed several locations and concluded that the Legacy Park site best met the system's needs, allowing easy access across North Texas and southern Oklahoma.
Wow...how long before oklahoma and texas are the same state?

Children’s Medical Center Legacy will bring the best possible pediatric care as close as possible to families who are part of the rapidly expanding population in and around Collin, Denton, Fannin, Grayson and Cooke counties.

I like how the parking area is larger than the footprint of the building.

I've noticed that's the case with most buildings in suburban Dallas when flying into DFW.
They'll probably switch to parking garages when they need more land for buildings. Their main campus just built a massive garage on Motor Street.

My wife used to work at Children's. Despite Medical City's marketing campaigns, the non-profit Children's Medical Center is *the* place to go for specialty child-centered care. Remember the conjoined twins? They may have spent most of their time at Medical City, but where did the actual surgery and recovery take place? Not at Med City.
Plus, Oklahoma only has the two cities (Tulsa and OKC) with anything like the facilities at CMC, and it's a lot easier to get from southeast OK to Dallas than to Tulsa or OKC. Community hospitals routinely send their pediatric patients to Children's -- sometimes to the consternation of the staff, when something that could have been treated in, say, Tyler gets sent to Dallas "just in case". The hospital's expansion should help with those problems, though... *if* they can hire enough medical staff to fill the new positions. This might be a good time to check out their job postings (https://www.childrens.com/join_our_team/choosejob.cfm?nav=85).

As one who has designed a lot of parking lots, I'm getting a little ticked off at the anti-parking attitudes I see thrown around in this forum.

I never seem to know when you're kidding. Is "Parking Lot Designer" an actual job description? Are there conventions of Parking Lot Designers with sessions on topics like "Perpendicular vs. Oblique: Modern Trends in Bidirectional Striping", "Hot Tar and You", and "ADA Compliance: Can You Ever Have Too Many Handicap Spots?"

lol. Hot Tar and You sounds like fun.
I'm serious. I have designed a lot of parking lots.
