Can anyone recommend a certified professional in the Dallas area who specializes in multi-unit or low-rise condo inspection?

Please let me know. I would prefer to go with someone who has experience in this area as opposed to someone who mainly does single family homes.

Thanks.

I used Bill Young at Bill Young, Inc. He's a PE and did straightforward job. In a condo, the inspector verifies the installed equipment works, the electrical system in your unit is safe, the hot water heater and AC are hooked up correctly, no leaks exist, windows and doors are as advertised (big deal if unit advertised as energy saver), water pressure/volume is correct, your electrical/water meters work ok. He does not check the building, at least not as a unit inspection. It takes about 45 minutes because some tests are timed, e.g., how quickly your oven comes to temperature. He does not check for cosmetics. He'll tell you if flooring has a structural flaw, but not if the paint is mismatched. If your A/C equipment is outside the unit (mine is on the roof), he will examine it.

Price is reasonable for an hour of a professional's time. I've not found anything in 2 years that he missed. He did point out that I had an extra fault interrupt switch on my switchbox that I did not really need. Sure enough, only minor voltage fluctuation trips that side of unit. It's no big deal; it's overprotection. .

Your buyer realtor should be able to provide several names with background. Ideally do your personal walk-through and the inspector's walk-through separately, but within a day or two. Then you give one list to contractor or seller.

I contacted a friend of mine who does property appraisals, and he recommended Darrell Tinglove 214.726.1335.

If that's in reference to my post, I'm just passing on what was passed to me.
