This 10-lane, cable-stayed bridge crosses the Charles River in Boston. The "Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge," is the widest cable-stayed bridge in the world, and the first in the United States with an asymmetrical, hybrid design.

I was in Boston right after the blizzard, and the view from the Financial District with all the snow, harbor and the bridge was wonderful. Hopefully, a new Trinity Park and related develoment will look as impressive in 20 years.

Very cool. There's a lot of 'wow factor' involved with the Big Dig - this bridge being no exception!

Thank you, Massacuhesettes, for sucking federal money into this black hole that will never be done. And we thought Central was a nightmare!

Interesting that you say that Urban...seeing as they just opened up the tunnels to the public. They have now moved on to tearing down the old highway and building the parks in their place. I do agree with you that the cost of the project seems extremely exorbitant. However, we do have to realize that a project on such a large scale with an amazing array of complexities and engineering firsts is very likely going to go over-budget (in this case waaayyyy over budget). Hopefully it will be a success and we can all learn from the big dig and avoid many of the mistakes that were made on that project in the future.
You have to admit though, it is an amazing engineering feat and Boston is going to look awesome with the linear parks in place of the elevated highway!

For a second there I thought Urban was telling us about his weekend.
