Here's some pics I found of my old hometown. Lived there as a kid and now can't stand the winters! They can be gruesome!

This is an art museum on the campus of U of M. It's pretty interesting, lots of negative feelings when first built, but it grew on people.

Downtown. The Foshay Tower near the center is to Minneapolis as the Magnolia Tower is to Dallas. It was the tallest building for many years. A big landmark.

Busy street downtown. Minne has great downtown activity especially on Nicolette, a pedestrian only street.

Beautifull tower downtown built in the early 90's or so. I remember when it was built! Quite a sight.

Nasty winter scene, this is why I can't stand it! It looks foggy, but that's actually just a lot of snow falling.

Looking over Lake Harriet towards downtown with bandshell in upper left corner. I know that people do ice skate on the lake but don't know if the ice fish. You won't see me out there! :)

nice pics. I've always wanted to visit minneapolis. Just as I've only been to Chicago and Boston in the summer, that is when I'll probably go if I go.

How can downtown be so active in such cold weather during the winter? That is some loyalty and toughness!

I love Minneapolis. It's smaller than Ft Worth, but has a (in my opinon) MUCH nicer skyline, seems more dense than DFW and has a great small town appeal to it. However, I love visiting for chunks of time but could never live there again. It gets too @#*&!& cold and too much snow. Beautifull to look at, but don't want to be around it for more than a day! I guess I'm just weird like that!
