What Victory could have been . . . .

Victory could have never been this. People in Dallas wanted a Will Rodgerseque Stadium unfortunately and David Schwartz gave them what they wanted.

I'm sorry, but I find that proposal worthy of no praise. Rather, I would prefer never to see that again. Man, so he can just throw ugly crap up now just because his name is Frank Ghery? He gets a free pass? Man, that already looks outdated...

I am indifferent....I think.

I am not sure I like this design for a sports venue though...especially the teams and owners are these days.

I'd noticed a few renderings already - but, thanks for putting the site link here. Much more info now. Looks pretty interesting. I like the roof garden and the fact it has an 'urban room' sure just sounds cool. ;) (Rooftop) turns into a skating rink (in Winter) w/Manhattan views all day...

Quite notable about the 8 lines of rail w/17 different designated trains that go right by or IVO this project.

i'm impressed with the interior, but the outside is not at all pleasing to the eyes... dallas' arena is - by far - the nicest arena out there right now... yeah, an urban room and rooftop garden are cool, but i'm extremely pleased w/ what we have now... and why would we need a non-texan architect, like gehry, when Schwartz's work is so good anyway?

I'm as sick of Ghery as the next guy, but I think this is a pretty good urban scheme. FYI, Schwartz is non-Texan as well.

What makes you think that Schwartz's work is so good? How is it innovative architecturally? Sorry I just feel its a huge loss to Dallas not to try for the best possible design. Imagine if the Kimbell had been a Schwartz design, or the Modern or the Nasher. 100 years from now people will remember those buildings, I wonder where the AA Center will be.

thx, jsoto3... i don't know why i thought schwartz was texan... regarding the design of the aac, i just think it is a grand looking building - something reminiscent of america's early architectural styles... i also think it will blend well w/ the eventual pedestrian friendly development around it... it's just so much more pleasing (in my opinion, of course), to stroll past a building like this, than a building like the very modern one will be in NY... just like i think it's better to walk around the older buildings of downtown (with their street-level facade) than the starck glass office towers of the 80's... i guess to each his own... and in no way am i an expert in architecture.

I like the fact that people have easy access to commiting suicide on the ice skating leverl.

I like the AAC still much better
