Just wanted to let people know that the old apartment building on Maple directly across from the Hotel Crescent Court and Capital Grille is being torn down. I just noticed today that a fence has gone up around the property and was informed about it. Unfortunetly none of us here at the hotel know what's going to happen when it's done. Does anyone have any info on that?

I always noticed them and thought they seemed a little out of place. Were they fulled leased? I cannot imagine them being torn down for nothing...I guess we'll hear something soon.

Has anyone heard any new news on this? It doesn't seem like they've done anything with the lot after the demolished it.

Was told this is controlled by the Harwood International folks. Don't know if that's the case but that's what my guy said.

I'm thinking that's a good thing. Trulucks is just fine, I liked Fog City Diner better, but that corner would be better with a Harwood highrise, architecturally symbiotic with the Crescent.

Harwood is 'The Wolf' (Pulp Fiction). I know everything is going to be okay when they come to the scene.

I would actually be very upset if someone tore down trulucks. That's a very unigue building for that area and I think it adds a lot to the street, especially with the neon. If anything was torn down for a highrise it should be either the corner where Medici is or where that empty restaurant/storefront is a bit further down McKinney where the facade was completely redone a couple of years ago and there's still furniture inside but no signs of action.

I hope Harwood will add retail to the ground floor and then have office space above. The don't have anything on their website about this site, though.

Nor does DCAD show the property in their ownership . . .

It's a small piece of land, right, but what's happening with this? Isnt Old Warsaw a couple doors up the street? Has a developer been trying to consolidate ownership of this stretch of road?

I never noticed them before:

They are hardly noticeable.

So, what's up with this block facing The Crescent? It's hard to imagine a downtown area location under more scrutiny for lot consolidation and redevelopment.
