I just read a blurb in the DMN today about a new Gateway sign for the Uptown area... The picture in the paper looked pretty sweet- it's the 1st of several signs that will be installed to signify the area. The 1st sign stands at 19 feet and is located at Pearl and Woodall Rodgers Freeway... If someone can get a picture that would be great. The blurb is on the back page of the Metro section if anyone is interested!

They used to have one on Cedar Springs in the median right across from Texas de Brazil, but it was taken down a few months ago. Anyone know if it is the same type of sign?

I drove past it this morning on the way to Cityplace. It looks very nice as does the median around with recently planted flowers, shrubs, etc. The city is really trying to make that area as nice as possibel before the Nasher opens next week.

On another note, last spring that exact "Uptown" sign was stuck in the median on Cedar Springs in front of Texas de Brazil. It was to be viewed as you headed southbound on Cedar Springs....obviously entering uptown.

I know exactly which one you're talking about... I always thought that one seemed out of place- but now that you mention it I think it's exactly the same (that's the way it looks from the photo anyways). Hopefully they can dress it up with some nice landscaping... (which GC just said they did- I'm a bit late on that one)...

In case nobody noticed, another "Uptown" sign has been installed at the intersection of McKinnon and Pearl across the street from the 2525 McKinnon office building.
