Check out the epitome of hickdom, Nashville, Tennessee - #1 sprawling metro in the nation by the Sierra Club and USA Today!

Ugh...

There are 35 houses on this street, and EVERY one is the same floorplan:

Ghastly:

Vinyl, anyone?

Who needs trees? Let's slash and burn!

This was a forest a few months ago :(

Hello? Is anyone there? Can you hear me?

More vinyl!

This is a nicer neighborhood - these homes cost $250-300k. Nice, eh?

Behind those homes is this, though:

Special Picture: Nashville claims to have the largest trailerpark in the world, Clayton Estates. There are over one thousand of these trailers in the development, and here's the funniest part - the entire thing is modeled after the TV show DALLAS! The streets are named Sue Ellen way, Ewing Drive... etc. But, the piece d'resistance is the clubhouse and sales center... modeled after Southfork Ranch! AHAHAHA... hicks. :D

Thriving commercial areas:

Ladies and gentlemen, this is what you get when you combine an apathetic citzenry, a government who has no regulations on growth, and money-crazed developers. This is ONLY a mere 12 miles from dying downtown.

So, if you ever think Dallas is bad... just look at Nashville...

AND GET ME OUTTA HERE!

Good God! Did you notice the power lines running through the front yards of some of the larger houses. Yuck.

So did they feel like they were behind other metros in the # of slums, and decide they better keep up with new construction?

It must be hillarious watching people mow around their front yard telephone poles

:D

Those people are in bad shape if they think that is pleasing to they eye.

I guess there isn't a home owners association tied to this neighboorhood. If they are, then their homeowners association must be governed by their developer who doesn't care about people.

Unfortunately, 99% of new growth in Nashville is just like this. The pictures showcased about 8 neighborhoods in a five mile range for me. There are no homeowners associations to be heard of here. Developers do as they please, and no one questions any of the results. The people in Nashville are blissfully unaware of the world around them...

I was once criticizing the area and one of my friends asked me, "Why would you ever want to live anywhere else? It's so great here."

Poor thing. I later learned she had never even been out of the state.

I don't think I've ever seen anything worse... makes the worst parts of S. Dallas look nice...
