Sorry I haven't been on the forum much -- busy at work and home -- but wanted to pass this tidbit along from the Progressive Center of Texas (http://www.progressivecenteroftexas.org/):

Creating A Greener Dallas: Public Transportation and YOU!

David Elliott & Mr. Lawrence Meshack from DART's Community Relations Dept. will present a forum on public transportation and how important it is that people use DART more frequently for environmental & health reasons.

Saturday, May 30
10 a.m. until Noon

PLEASE NOTE: We encourage you to ride DART Rail to the event: either the Red or Blue line to the Cedars Station, which is just down the street from South Side on Lamar.

Our address is: 1409 S. Lamar St., Suite #1021, Dallas, TX, 75215

For events, event guests are allowed to park for free in the Sala Tex-Mex restaurant parking lot on the northeast corner of Belleview and Lamar. Paid parking is required along Lamar and behind Bill's Records and Poor David's Pub.
To RSVP, and for the contact phone number and email, go to the signup page (https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=cjg5cG8xeG95OVVEbnl4N25lWEFYQ0E6M A..) (though I'm sure you don't have to register to attend).

I can't go -- it's my daughter's high school graduation -- but I'd like to hear how it goes. In particular, I would dearly love for some of the forum's more vocal transit *opponents* to march into the lion's den and lay out their case. I dare ya. :)
