I had the pleasure of taking a getaway to Atlanta this weekend to relax and just get out of Nashville for awhile.

I decided to be a little extravagant and stay at the Marriott Marquis in downtown. It was such a wonderful experience! I requested the highest room available, and got a room on the 45th floor overlooking Midtown. The view was AWESOME!

Anyways, on to the pics...

The hotel was hosting a black tie gala while I was there. Everyone in the grand lobby was wearing a tuxedo or ballgown. It was really cool.

The hotel's atrium. Riding up the glass elevator was scary at first, but after I got used to it, it was awesome! Everything flew by while travelling up 45 floors!

My room... This bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in :)

Looking down. I never thought a 30 story building could look small :D

Wow, great pictures! That looks like a great hotel. Hopefully Mariott's Dallas Convention Center hotel (if it ever gets done!) will be equally as amazing.

Atlanta really is a very nice city. Hopefully with a little more time Dallas can achieve at least Atlanta's level of niceness, if not surpass it entirely, hehe.

Actaully, I think Atlanta and Dallas are quite similar in the number of high-rises, density, urban-ness, etc. Atlanta, however, had the '96 Olympics to fast-track inner city cleanup, revitalization, and restoration. I have family there and I always enjoy visiting.

thanks for pictures

Those are terrific photos!
Man, gotta love the atrium upshot, yes indeed.
